Meet Colleen: Colleen Pye was born and raised in Omaha, NE. The fourth of five children, Colleen had her first real touch of the real estate business when her parent’s real estate agent created a contest to see which child could and would keep their room clean while he was trying to sell their home. Needless to say, Colleen won! Her parents also had a passion for real estate and were active in remodeling homes – it is because of them, she has the ability to “see” the potential in resale homes. After attending college in Overland Park, Colleen spent time working in elder care, retail with Michael’s Arts & Crafts and the moving industry (need to move a piano, Colleen’s your gal!) – her career choices took her to Norfolk, VA and Cedar Rapids, IA before settling in the NW Houston area. Colleen and the love of her life, her husband Al, now call Tomball, TX home. They recently built their dream home in the downtown area so that they can be close to all the area’s happenings. For 13+ years, Colleen has been delivering exceptional service and results in the field of real estate. Meet Michelle:  Michelle Speetzen is a Buyer’s Agent with the Pye Team and enjoys helping buyers get the property they want within budget and closed on-time! Michelle began her career in the real estate industry 30-plus years ago, starting out as a Marketing Director for a local title survey company and has been a licensed real estate agent now for over 4 years. A lifetime Houstonian who has called the Galleria area, Sugarland, and now with over 20 years in making Spring her home, Michelle truly understands the city and it’s surrounding areas. Meet Mona: Mona has been assisting Colleen and the Pye team for over 6 years and is a licensed real estate agent who specializes in working with Buyers.  Having worked in real estate contracts and closings with the Pye team, Mona is a highly specialized agent who works very hard to ensure a smooth and successful transaction from the first greeting until closing and beyond.  As a native Houstonian, Mona knows the area and the benefits of home ownership and living in the greater Houston area. Mona’s husband Randy, and youngest son are veterans of the US Marine Corps and because of this, she has a special love of working with military personnel for their real estate needs. In addition to having raised her two sons, Freedom and Justice, Mona is also the proud mommy of her rescue dog Bond!  An avid runner, Mona starts each day enjoying a run in one of NW Houston’s beautiful area parks. Prior to real estate, Mona owned a web development company in the Houston area before turning to real estate photography – which ultimately lead her to becoming a piece of the Pye Team. Meet Cathy: Cathy Sykes is a team assistant and is often one of the first points of contact when reaching out to the Pye team. With over 20 years of customer service experience in the travel industry, Cathy knows how to get things done for clients. Before joining real estate, she was in a highly specialized group with Carlson Travel, in corporate accounts, where she was dedicated to “fixing errors” for clients made by other travel agents – this often entailed helping people with immediate needs when traveling and rectifying costly situations to keep corporate clients happy.  Cathy has been in real estate for over 5 years and brings this same dedication and devotion to clients and anyone seeking assistance with Colleen Pye and the Pye Team. In her spare time, Cathy enjoys gardening and cooking – especially baking where she is known for her homemade bread! Local knowledge

It is incredibly important for the agent selling a home to have recent sales experience and success at selling homes in the area. An agent who is new in town or who has never sold a home in a particular part of town is, in many ways, a beginner. Sellers have a right to pick a winner so start things out right by making sure you have the right agent for the job.

Organized with attention to detail

A real estate agent that is organized and likes to work with attention to detail is the one that is most likely to sell a home. Great agents know the tiniest changes sellers can make to improve the sale-ability of their home. They are creative with their MLS listings and they take the best photographs of each home.

NEGOTIATION SKILLS

When the offers are flying back and forth on a house, the real estate agent should be able to figure out the right amount to offer and navigate the negotiations with confidence. In fact, with a skilled negotiator on your side you have the possibility of saving up to 3-5% of the sales price, which can make a huge difference!

Knowledge of technology

An agent that can use technology with ease is going to be more up-to-date on the market in the area. They will also be more likely to be an organized person who has their act together. This is the type of person sellers want helping to sell their homes.

Tenacity

Sellers want an agent that is tenacious. They follow up quickly after every time the home is shown. They appear to work hard and they rarely give up.

Aggressive yet polite attitude

The best realtor is not afraid to speak up. He or she should be just as promotional about the seller’s home as if it was their own. By being aggressive, the realtor is working hard to put the home in the forefront of the local market.

Hardworking

A realtor should appear to be tireless and should work on the sale of each home as if it was the most important thing in their life.

Honesty

Sellers need an honest agent, one that will tell them like it is, even if they’re not the easiest to hear. This type of person will lay out exactly what the seller can expect, from sale price to timing and more. In the end, honesty will save sellers lots of worry.
